Located in Southeast Scotland, St. Andrews West is a beach break that offers up some easygoing sections perfect for longboarding or beginners. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for St. Andrews West?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the West and Southwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
