Located in Southeast Scotland, Belhaven Bay is a fun beach break perfect for longboarding and beginners with its mushy and easygoing waves. The waves are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Belhaven Bay?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days and a shortboard if the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East and Northeast. Works on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temps drop to 7 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
