Located in Southeast Scotland, St. Andrews East is a fun beach break that offers up some great sections for performance manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Needs a big swell to wrap in, so inconsistent. The water quality can be a bit questionable.
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. Works More...
