Located in Landes, France, La Salie is a decent beach break. The waves here break over a sand bottom for up to 100 meters providing some excellent sections for manoeuvres. The waves can be a bit tricky at times, especially on bigger swells. Pollution is a problem here.
What are the best surf conditions for La Salie?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is usually crowded (7/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, West, and Southwest. Works best on low to mid tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is best when water temps drop to 12 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
