Located in Landes, France, Biscarrosse-Plage is a fun beach break known for its deep barrels when the conditions align. The waves here break over a sand bottom for up to 100 meters (328 feet) and are generally straightforward to surf.
What are the best surf conditions for Biscarrosse-Plage?
It gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when the waves are smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. The break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and can get quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the east. The best swells are from the southwest, northwest, and west. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21°C (70°F). In winter, with temperatures dropping to 12°C (54°F), a 5/4 wetsuit is best. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
