Located in Brittany, France, Le Gouerou is a quality beach break known for its powerful, hollow shore break barrels. The waves here can be heavy and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom. This spot attracts both bodyboarders and surfers and is popular among the local surf community.
What are the best surf conditions for Le Gouerou?
The surf is best between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size increases. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers, but its consistent nature, with a rating of 7/10, often leads to extreme crowds with a rating of 9/10. The waves have a nicely defined peak and bowl shoulders, making them appealing to both boards and bodyboarders. However, tricky exits at high tide make mid-tides the best time to surf. The best winds are from the East, and the ideal swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West.
