Located in Brittany, France, Dalbosc is a quality rocky reef break that offers a hollow left and a walling right that often closes out. The waves here are heavy and require your A-game to surf well, breaking for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over the rocky reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Dalbosc?
It gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and can get quite crowded with students (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. It works best on a low to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16°C (61°F). In winter, a 4/3 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 10°C (50°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
