Located in Brittany, France, La Mauvaise Greve is a rocky reef break that peels both left and right, offering some great walls for manoeuvres. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over the rock reef.
What are the best surf conditions for La Mauvaise Greve?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when the waves are smaller and a shortboard when the size steps up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here hardly breaks (2/10) and is never crowded (3/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16°C (61°F). In winter, a 4/3 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 10°C (50°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
