Located in Taghazout, Morocco, Banana Point is a pretty good point break that offers up an easygoing alternative to the high-octane points in the area. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a sand bottom. This spot is perfect for beginners or intermediates. There is also a beach break on the inside frequented by the many surf schools in the area.
What are the best surf conditions for Banana Point?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days and a shortboard if the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and can get very crowded (9/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing a springsuit here in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
