More on Banana Point

Banana Point is located near the village of Aourir, also called Banana due to the many plantations that are grown in the river bed facing the spot. This wave is a long right-hander point break with no current, which makes it heaven for intermediate surfers. It starts working from 1ft but tends to close out with bigger swells (6ft+).

Sheltered from the northerly winds, Banana Point provides a more consistent wave at low tide. It’s often a fast peak with lovely lines coming all the way down to the beach. If there isn’t enough swell for the point to break, then the beach should work.
