Located on Inner Hebrides, Scotland, Caravans is an OK righthand rivermouth break that offers up a good wave for manoeuvres. The waves here requires some surf ability to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Caravans?
Gets good between waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest and West. Works best on a low to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temps drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
