Located on the Inner Hebrides, Scotland, Lossit Bay is an excellent but remote beach break that offers up great sections for performance surfing when the conditions line up. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Gets dangerous and full of rips as the size picks up.
What are the best surf conditions for Lossit Bay?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard or step-up when bigger. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
