Located on the Inner Hebrides, Scotland, Saligo Bay is a quality beach break that offers up some good sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. Rights at the North end of the bay, lefts at the South. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Saligo Bay?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
