Located on the Inner Hebrides, Scotland, Laggan Bay is a quality stretch of beach break that offers up some good sections for performance surfing when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Laggan Bay?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard or step-up when bigger. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
