What are the best surf conditions for Carolina Beach?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Carolina Beach is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). Offshores from the East. Best swells from the West. Works best on mid to high tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 28 degrees. In winter the temps plunge to 14 degrees, so a 4/3 is best. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
