Located on the East coast of Florida, Sunglow Pier is an alright pier set-up that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some great sections for turns and hacks as well as cruising.
What are the best surf conditions for Sunglow Pier?
Gets good between chest high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days and a shortboard when the size picks up. Sunglow Pier is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and can get quite crowded most days (8/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells come from the Southeast. Works best on mid to low tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit when water temperatures drop to 18 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
