Located on the East coast of Florida, Ormond Beach is a fun, abandoned pier break with a sand-covered bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some great sections for manoeuvres. Watch out for submerged objects.
What are the best surf conditions for Ormond Beach?
Gets good from chest high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when it is smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. The break here is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and can get busy on weekends (5/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. Works best on an East or Southeast swell. Works best on a low to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In winter a 3/2 wetsuit is good for the 18-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
