Located in Flagler County on the East Coast of Florida, Flagler Pier is a fun pier set-up that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here can be difficult to surf and break for up to 100 meters serving up some wide barrels and big end sections for airs. Can be a little localized, don’t step on toes!
What are the best surf conditions for Flagler Pier?
Gets good from waist-high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when larger. The break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and usually very very crowded (10/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Big swells will break on all tides, but smaller ones will only break on low to mid.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees in August. In winter we recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit with temps dropping to 18 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
