Located in Humboldt County, California, Trinidad State Beach is a fun beach break that offers up some peaky lines in huge NW conditions. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand and rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Trinidad State Beach?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will get busy when it is too big elsewhere (5/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 5/4 here year-round. Water temperatures range between 9 and 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
