Located in Humboldt County, California, Centreville Beach is a decent beach break that offers up some barreling peaks when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom. Not a good spot for beginners due to submerged rocks and treacherous currents.
What are the best surf conditions for Centreville Beach?
Gets good between chest-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a 5/4 here year-round. Water temperatures range between 9 and 13 year round. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
