Located in the Southern part of Lombok, Indonesia, Kuta is a perfect tourist village for staging a Lombok surf stay. There is also some good surf in the bay, namely a right hand reef that offers up some sections perfect for practicing turns. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. There’s also a left to the West.
What are the best surf conditions for Kuta?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temps fluctuate between 28 and 25. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
