Located in South Lombok, Indonesia, Belongas Bay is home to two reef breaks, a left and a right, that generally throw out some barrels for those there. The waves here are challenging and break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef. These breaks are found on opposite ends of the bay, which apparently also houses a decent shark population. The left is generally longer and hollower than the right, as well as more consistent.
What are the best surf conditions for Belongas Bay?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or.a step up as the size increases. These breaks are suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally get busy on weekends and holidays (5/10). The best winds are from the Northwest and West. The best swells are from the South or Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temps fluctuate between 28 and 25. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
