Located in East Bali, Indonesia, Tanjung Sari is a quality reef break that offers both lefts and rights that are generally more on the turns and carves side of things than the hollow barrels. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef. Can be fast and sectiony, pick your waves well. Named for a hotel right on the shore.
What are the best surf conditions for Tanjung Sari?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally have a bit of a crowd on it (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides but the right prefers a low.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temps fluctuate between 29 and 27. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
