Located in East Bali, Indonesia, Nusa Dua is a fun right hand reef break that offers up powerful sections, either perfect for turns or barreling. The waves here are pretty heavy and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. It isn’t the most organized reef, you will have your pick of multiple different peaks which will each have their own flavor.
What are the best surf conditions for Nusa Dua?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is consistent, a swell magnet in the wet season (7/10) and will generally have a crew on it (6/10). The best winds are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temperatures fluctuate between 29 and 27 here year round. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
