Located in Eastern Spain, Playa del Dedo is an average beach break that offers up some decent sections for manoeuvres when the swell lines up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Pretty close to Malaga, it can attract those looking to avoid the urban breaks.
What are the best surf conditions for Playa del Dedo?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here doesn’t break often (3/10) and will usually have a crew on it (7/10). The best swells are from the East, South, Southeast, and Southwest. The best winds are from the West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
