This is one of the most well-known spots on the coast due to its consistency. Located in Eastern Spain, Playa de la Carihuela is an average beach break that offers up some good sections for manoeuvres when the swells line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Playa de la Carihuela?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size arrives. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is decently consistent (5/10) and can be insanely crowded due to this consistency (9/10). The best winds are onshore from the East. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
