Located in Eastern Spain, Playa de Carchuna/Calahonda is an average right-hand point break that offers up some decent sections for manoeuvres. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rock bottom.
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when/if the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not consistent (3/10) and is generally uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. More...
