Located in Eastern Spain, Platja de San Juan is an average beach break that offers up some decent sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. There are some reefs on the North side of the peninsula that might be working on the bigger swells.
What are the best surf conditions for Platja de San Juan?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not consistent (2/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. The best winds are from the West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
