Located in Northeast Puerto Rico, Leeward Islands, Pine Grove is an average beach break that offers up some fun sections to practice manoeuvres on. The waves here are not too difficult to surf and break for up to 150 meters over a rock and sand bottom. It is almost all sand except the takeoff spot but it is quite deep there. This spot cuts the size of a swell by a lot, so a good place to check if your confidence isn’t up but the swell is.
What are the best surf conditions for Pine Grove?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North and Northeast. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 26. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
