Located in Northeast Puerto Rico, Leeward Islands, Los Tubos is an excellent reef break that offers an A-frame, barreling peak that turns into rippable walls after the initial tube. The left is generally better than the right. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 200 meters over a rock bottom. Locals here are generally very chill.
What are the best surf conditions for Los Tubos?
Gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or step-up. This break is best for intermediates and up. Los Tubos often has a wave (6/10) and will have a laid-back crew on it (5/10). The best winds come from the South. Swells will hit from the North or Northeast. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 26. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
