Located in South West Australia, Avalon Point is a fun reef point break over a rock bottom. The waves here require a bit of surf skill and can break for up to 100 meters, providing fun sections for manoeuvres, specifically for longboarders.
What are the best surf conditions for Avalon Point?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding your longboard or standard shortboard here. Avalon Point is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers due to the rocky bottom. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) but can get busy on weekends (5/10). The best winds for Avalon Point are Southeast. The best swell direction is from the Southwest and breaks on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in summer with the warmest water temperature a pleasant 21 degrees in February. In winter we recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit with temps dropping all the way to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
