Located in Perth, South West Australia, Trigg Point is decent reef break. A rock and sandy reef provides the base for the wave. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf, especially well, and can break for up to 100 meters, providing great walls and sections for both cruisey and high performance surfing.
What are the best surf conditions for Trigg Point?
Gets good between waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your longboard, standard shortboard, or step up when bigger here. Trigg Point in Perth is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers due to both locals and the potentially unforgiving bottom. The surf here is somewhat inconsistent (4/10) and can get very crowded due to the length of the wave as well as ease of access (9/10). The best winds for Trigg Point are East. The best swell direction is from the Northwest and Southwest and it works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in summer with the warmest water temperature a pleasant 21 degrees in February. In winter we recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit with temps dropping to 16 degrees! See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
