Located near Perth in South West Australia, Ders is a decent reef break that breaks over a boulder and sand bottom. The surf here can be a bit tricky to manage and the wave breaks for up to 100 meters providing lovely walls to rip into or cruise on.
What are the best surf conditions for Ders?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This is a spot for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will have a crew on it when it is good (6/10). The best winds are offshore from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In winter a 3/2 is the move when temps drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
