Wategos is the beach inside the bay under Byron Bay’s lighthouse. This beach is the ‘rich and famous’ region of Byron Bay and the beach itself is beautiful. The wave is mostly a soft right ‘point break’ but often there are beachies further down. It is a soft wave for the most part, with a high population of mals and learners. A great beach for the family. Only hazards are an occasional rip on bigger days and a few rocks in the corner.
