Tallows a fun back beach of Byron Bay. Located under the lighthouse on the ocean side. Access is via a narrow sealed road that turns off behind Clarkes Beach in Byron Bay town. Tallows is only 1km or so down this road so you could drive, ride or walk from Byron. Parking is decent with plenty of spots
Tallows offers up fun peaky waves that often pack a punch. it gets all open ocean swells and is a great place to surf if the swell is too small in the bay and the wind is west to north. The sandbanks determine the wave quality but there is usually something out there. Often you will see dolphins in the water and Tallows has been known for sharks with a few attacks in recent history.
A fun beach break that can get serious when the swell is bigger. Not really a beginner wave but good for everyone else.
