Located in the Simeulue and Banyak Islands, Northern Sumatra, Treasure Island is a world-class point break style reef break that offers up a beautiful, long, and barreling right-hander. The waves here are challenging and break for up to 350 meters over a coral reef. When on this break has about 4 barrel sections that are linked up by long rippable walling sections. A regular footer’s dream wave.
What are the best surf conditions for Treasure Island?
Gets good between waist-high ad triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will get busy, but there is room for everyone (5/10). The best winds are from the North and Northwest. The best swells are from the South. Works best on a mid-tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. In summer water temperatures rise to 29 degrees before dropping only to 25 degrees in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
