Located in Simeulue and Banyak Islands just South of Pulau Pinang, Indonesia, Lizard’s Nest is an excellent reef break that offers up an amazing 10 second right hand barrel when the conditions line up. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Lizards Nest?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide.
The water temperatures fluctuate between 25 and 29 year round. Boardshorts or a bikini will do the trick all year. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
