Located on the Cape Peninsula, South Africa, 3de Steen is a fun beach break that offers up some powerful barrels. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a shifting sand bottom. Best in winter when barrels are very common.

Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the North and Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest or West. It works best on a low to mid-tide.
