Located in West Java, Dili Island has an excellent left hand reef that offers up big, wide, and deep barrels, found on the western side of the island. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef. Landing on the island is prohibited. There are rumours of medical experiments taking place here. There is also a right on the other side of the island.
What are the best surf conditions for Dili Island?
Gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and it will be solo surfing (1/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.
