Located in West Java, Baya Beach is a quality beachie that offers up some punchy waves perfect for perfecting a rail game. The waves here are straightforward to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a hard-packed sand bottom. Similar to Kuta, but with fewer crowds.
What are the best surf conditions for Baya Beach?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is fine for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures rise to 29 in the summer before dropping only to 25 in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
