Located in West Java, Indonesia, Loji is the main river mouth break in the area that offers up a grinding left-hand barrel when the swell has a good amount of west in it. The waves here are pretty heavy and break for up to 300 meters over a shallow sandbank. This spot is filthy. Jakarta is only 50 miles away, be prepared for all sorts of refuse, sewage, and trash in the water. Hope your inner ear is up for the fight of its life.
What are the best surf conditions for Loji?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here hardly ever breaks (2/10) and will be uncrowded (2/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Southwest or West. Works on a mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a boardshorts or a bikini here year-round. Water temperatures rise to 29 in the summer before dropping only to 25 in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
