The Kuda Lau Surf Charter is a 58 foot motorsailer built with Sumatran Ironwood. She has an 80hp engine and travels at 8 knots, plus a 12 kva genset giving 220 Volt power. The tender for making island landings and zipping between surf spots is a 4m aluminium runabout with 40 hp outboard. A typical trip will be for 10 days / 11 Nights. They have been chartering to Mentawai’s, Telos, Nias and Banyak Islands for about 20 years and are one of the original surf charters. Kuda Laut is a comfortable boat with friendly and helpful crew of 4 whom are dedicated to providing their guests with the best vibes. They are experts at matching your wave preference to what is happening on the reefs depending upon conditions. This is one of the most wave-rich parts of the planet with bountiful world class breaks around every corner.
Kuda Lau specializes in small groups and can accommodate up to 7 people comfortably. The large, air-conditioned, dorm-style cabin is complete with flatscreen TV and DVD player. The communal areas and an upper-deck have ample space to relax over complimentary beers or fruit juices, watching the stunning Indian Ocean sunsets. Aside from the top deck, for dining and chilling there is also the large front shaded deck space and a raised “Bronzing Deck”.
The Chef prepares for you 3 square meaks a day with delicious Indonesian and Western dishes. You also get free soft drinks and 5 bintangs per day keep you fresh and fuelled to keep you at optimum performance in the water.
Throughout your charter the crew takes photos or footage of the surf action and offer other activities when the surf is not pumping. Apart from surfing, other activities include fishing, snorkeling, and village trips to the Islands. To keep you entertained you have full use of snorkeling gear, trawling rods, popping gear and plenty of hand fishing lines.
