Located in Northern Cornwall, Trebarwith Strand is not a bad beach break that offers up some decent waves for manoeuvres when the ride picks up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. It’s a long walk South to get here, but the scenery is gorgeous. There are a couple of reefs in the area, hollow and shallow.
What are the best surf conditions for Trebarwith?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will get crowded, especially in summers (7/10). The best winds are from the East, Northeast, or Southeast. The best swells are from the Southwest and West. Works on low to mid tide best, the beach actually disappears at high.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best in the 9-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
