Located in Northern Devon, England, Lynmouth is a world-class left point break that offers up long, rippable walls. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 400 meters over a boulder covered bottom. Gets very crowded when it is on, but does not break too often.
What are the best surf conditions for Lynmouth?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if small and a shortboard as the waves pick up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will be insanely crowded (10/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the West and they need to be massive. Best on low tide but works through the whole range.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
