Located in Newquay, England, Little Fistral is an excellent beach break that offers up some great barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. This is the spot that most of the country’s top pros will come to when its on.
What are the best surf conditions for Little Fistral?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here due to the hollowness of the waves. This spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and can get quite crowded due to the quality (8/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a low to mid tide best, watch out for rocks on incoming.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best in the 9-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
