Located in Galicia, Rio Siera is an excellent beach break that offers up some good quality barrels at low tides and walls at high tides. The waves here can be a bit challenging to surf (and the rips difficult to navigate) and break for up to 100 meters over a sandy bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Rio Siera?
Gets good between waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is very consistent (8/10) and is almost always uncrowded (3/10). The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. The best winds are from the Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
