Located in Galicia, Spain, Praia de Sabon is a fun beach break that provides some good, open faces for manoeuvres. The waves here can be a bit tricky to surf at times and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. Close to A Coruna, so it can get crowded. This is an excellent summer spot.
What are the best surf conditions for Praia de Sabon?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (8/10) and will be crowded most days (8/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works best on lower tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
