Located in Galicia, Spain, Louro is a fun beach break that offers up some good peaky waves for high-performance surfing. The coast here has turned a little bit in favour of Southwest and West swells as opposed to the Northern stretches. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Louro?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (6/10) and uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest (big so it wraps), Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
