Located in Galicia, Spain, La Lanzada is a beach break that puts up some good waves for turns and hacks when the conditions line up. This break can be a bit tricky to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. There is also a lefthand reef a little ways offshore that can get good and crowded, just not too often.
What are the best surf conditions for La Lanzada?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and can get a bit crowded in summer (6/10). The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. The best winds are from the Northeast. Works best on low to mid tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
