Located in Galicia, Spain, Foz is a high-quality river mouth wave that provides fast, left breaking walls that are usually hollow for tubes. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. Very shallow wave.
What are the best surf conditions for Foz?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if small and a shortboard when the size arrives. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here only breaks on the biggest swells (2/10) and will be very crowded when it does (8/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the North and Northwest. Will only break on low tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
